Peace - Day 2 - Faith-Based Advent Activity

Create a “Prince of Peace” Tag Using Isaiah 9:2

Today we’ll be making a scripture tag like we did last week.

Supplies:

a.     Cardstock, Construction Paper, or Copy Paper

b.     fine tip black marker

c.      additional colored markers, colored pencils or crayons

d.     Ribbon, scraps of paper, cloth, lace

Use whatever kind of paper you have handy – construction, cardstock or even regular copier paper.

Directions:

  1. Decide what size you want to make your scripture tag.  It can be like a tag for a present with a decorative edge.  It can be the size of a bookmark.
  2. Cut your paper to the size that you want to make your scripture tag.  Cut the edges if desired.  If you have a Cricut machine, use it to cut your tag.  You’ll find free images of tags in Design Space.  You may also want to punch a hole in the top of your tag and decorate it with ribbon.
  3. Next, read Isaiah 9:2 and pray about it.  How does it speak to you about peace?  Decide how you are going to decorate your tag using this verse.
  4. Write or paraphrase the verse onto your tag – remember that you have both the front & back of the tag.
  5. Doodle or decorate your tag with doodle drawings, ephemera (ribbons, material, pieces of paper, etc.).
  6. Make sure that you reference the bible verse somewhere on your tag.
  7. Place your completed tag in your bible on the Isaiah 9 page.
