Make a Candle Wrap with the Word Hope
AI says that a candle wrap is a decorative covering used to enhance the presentation of a candle, especially when giving it as a gift. It can be made from various materials such as wrapping paper, tissue paper, or fabric, and is designed to complement the candle's shape and occasion. The wrapping not only adds aesthetic appeal but also provides some protection during handling. Techniques for wrapping candles include using gathered paper, candy wrapper style, fan folds, or placing them in gift bags.
Supplies:
a. A candle – preferably an LED pillar. You can get these at Dollar Tree.
b. Wrapping paper, light weight cardstock, fabric
c. Twine or ribbon
d. Ephemera – decorations like dried flowers, plastic flowers, bows, etc.
e. Markers or acrylic paint pens
f. If you have a Cricut, the machine can write “HOPE” onto the paper that you want to use to wrap the candle. You can also use vinyl to cut out the letters & adhere them to a glass candle holder. You can also find candle wrapper designs in Design Space.
g. Glue
Directions: There’s not much to the directions. Create a wrap design that you can use with a candle. Remember to be safe if you are using a real candle because some of your materials may be flammable. Also consider cutting shapes into the wrap paper so that the light from the LED candle shows through.
Consider making candle wraps during the other 3 weeks (using the appropriate words) plus a Christ Candle for Christmas Eve and creating your own Advent wreath to light each week.
