Hope - Day 3 - Faith-Based Advent Activity

Doodle a Mini Prayer Card for Someone

1.     Supplies:

a.     4”x6” index card or paper of your choice

b.     Pencil

c.      Black marker

d.     Colored pencils or crayons

2.     Directions:

a.     Use a pencil.  After you’ve designed your prayer card, you will use a black marker to trace over the pencil, then erase the pencil marks and color your prayer card with colored pencils or crayons.

b.     Take a 4”x6” index card and doodle (using pencil) a border around the edges.  Make sure your index card is landscape (6”w x 4”l).

c.      In the middle of the card, write the name (in pencil) of the person that you want to prayer for.  Make sure it’s large enough to fill most of the blank area in the middle.

d.     Write the Jeremiah 29:11 scripture verse (complete or paraphrased) or another verse having to do with hope on your prayer card.  Use your imagination as to where you write your scripture verse.  Write it along your border or along the name.  Make sure you reference the verse on the prayer card.

e.     Once you’ve finished with your design, take a black marker (thin point) and trace over your pencil design.  Erase the pencil marks.  Then use colored pencils or crayons to color and decorate your prayer card.

f.       After you’ve finished your prayer card, hand deliver or mail the card to the person you are praying for.  If the back of the prayer card is empty, you can use it as a postcard.

Visual Faith Ministries is a great website with ready to color prayer cards.
