Day 7
Salvation
As we finish the first 7 days of our "30 Days of Gratitude," we'll be looking at John 3:16 -- a verse that many of us know by memory -- "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Our key word today is Salvation.
Take some time today and listen to John Stainer's "God So Loved the World." There is no doubt that thanksgiving and gratitude are related to salvation. The basis of salvation is grace, the instrument of salvation is faith, the result of salvation is good works, and the confidence of salvation is that what God started, he will finish. A couple of days ago we looked at sanctification, an important part of salvation. We are justified, sanctified, and glorified by grace. Through faith in God and the free gift of grace, we are united with God through salvation. Be thankful today that you have received the free gift of grace and are saved through the blood of Jesus Christ.
