Day 6: Refuge - Psalm 62:5-8

Day 6

Refuge

Psalm 62:5-8

On this 6th day, our scripture points us towards our key word -- refuge.  "My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge." (vs. 7)  This verse has been a popular scripture to fall back on during this time of unrest in our lives -- from the pandemic to political unrest to the crises in our regular lives.  "Faith > Fear" is a popular logo during these times.  I even have a rock on my desk with this logo painted on it.

Manseh (in Hebrew) is a refuge or a shelter.  It is a place where a person can go to find peace and quiet––security––refuge from the pressures and dangers of life.  God is the psalmist’s refuge.

So my question to you today is where is your manseh, your refuge or shelter from the pressures and dangers of life?  Verse 8 tells us:  "Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. What is pouring out of your heart today to God?  Are you trusting him and seeking him as your refuge?
