Day 8: Testimony -- Matthew 10:32

Day 8

Testimony

Matthew 10:23

Today we start the 2nd week of our "30 Days of Gratitude."  Today's verse is Matthew 10:23 (NIV) -- When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.  And our key word today is testimony.  I suggest that you read Matthew 10 leading up to verse 23.  This is the account of Jesus calling his disciples.  But more importantly (vs. 17-23), Jesus testifies to the disciples.  He tells them what will happen to them and what will happen to him.

There is no doubt that our testimony is one of the truest ways to express our thanksgiving and gratitude to God.  It's one of the reasons that perhaps we're choosing to take these 30 days to express our thanksgiving and gratitude.  This practice that we are engaging in helps transform our faith and prepare us to be able to share our testimony.  It increases our love for God and deepens our devotional life.  And most importantly, it draws us closer to God.

My question to you today is what part of your testimony do you want to share today?  How has that experience transformed you, prepared you to testify, and increased your love for God?

Here's my leaf:

May your devotional life be deepened as your love for God increases.  Amen.
