Everything
1 Corinthians 15:27
For he “has put everything under his feet."
Now when it says that “everything”
has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who
put everything under Christ.
Paul
continues the message from verses 25 & 26 by quoting Psalms 8:6. Again, the Corinthians would have been very
familiar with this Psalm. Paul continues
by clarifying that the word "everything" does not include God
himself, as Paul is moving towards an explanation of the Trinity -- the Father,
Son, & Holy Spirit as one.
