Day 21
Enemy
1 Corinthians 15:25-26
For he must reign until he has put all
his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
The
Corinthians would have know the reference and imagery referenced in verse
25. Kings' thrones were elevated so that
their feet were higher than their subjects, and when they conquered an enemy,
they could put their feet on the neck of the conquered king to symbolize
submission to the victorious king. So
this verse tells us that Christ must reign until his enemies are utterly
defeated and He can put his feet on their necks. Verse 26 refers to the fact that after the
King of Heaven has destroyed all of the other enemies of our lives, both
physical and spiritual, then, and only then, will death be destroyed.
Read
Ephesians 6:10-17 (NIV) -- The Armor of God.
As you read this scripture, list each piece of armor that is
mentioned. What are the spiritual
qualities that are associated with each piece?
How can you use the armor of God to protect you from the enemies in your
life as you wait for that glorious day when you will be with God in heaven.
