Day 3: Meekness - Psalm 37:11

Day 3

Meekness

Psalm 37:11

On this third day of our 30 days of gratitude, our key word is meekness and our verse is Psalm 37:11 -- "But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace."  Quite honestly, I didn't look at this verse until today, and it strikes me as very applicable for today -- Election Day in the United States of America.  Merriam Webster Dictionary defines meekness as the quality or state of being meek, enduring injury with patience and without resentment.  However, meekness, according to the Bible, is being humble and gentle towards others and willingly being submissive and obedient to the Lord. It is not being selfish and arrogant, loud or obnoxious. Rather, it’s having a quiet but confident trust in the Lord and being willing and able to do whatever it is He commands.

So my question to you this morning is how can you exhibit meekness today as you make your voting decision (if you haven't voted already), interact with others on social media, and accept the results of today's vote.  Remember that "meekness doesn't mean weakness."  It takes true strength to show meekness.  How will you be humble and gentle while being obedient to the Lord?

Here's my leaf tag:

May your day be filled with an abundance of peace.
