Create a “Peace Be With You” Card
Today’s craft is a very simple greeting card idea. We are going to use the dove that we made on Sunday to add some dimension to our card.
Supplies:
Cardstock, Construction Paper, or Colored Copy Paper
Black Marker and Colored Markers, Pencils, or Crayons
A Pencil (to draw your design)
Glue
An Envelope for your finished card
The Paper Dove that you made on Sunday
Directions:
· You can make your card any size you want. Just make sure that it will fit in an envelope that you have. Make sure that your paper dove fits on your card base.
o 8.5”x11” = Two 4.25”x5.5” cards
o 7”x6” piece of paper = 3.5”x6” card that will fit in a No. 8 Envelope
· Make sure you pick a light color so that you can draw/doodle a design on the card. Do NOT use white since your dove is white.
· Fold your paper in half – again make sure that your dove fits on the card and that you have space to write on it.
· Glue your dove onto your card.
o Unfold the dove’s back wing and glue it & the back side of the dove onto the front of the card.
o Glue the front side of the dove to the wing & back side that you just glued down.
o Glue the bottom part of the front wing to the front side that you just glued down.
o Do NOT glue the top part of the front wing down.
· Draw a decorative border around the front of the card.
· Write the words “Peace Be With You” on the front of the card.
· Write a message inside and mail it to a friend that needs to hear these encouraging words.
