During the last several Advent seasons, I have participated in Advent Random Acts of Kindness. Some of the random acts have included comfort bags to Cancer patients, treats to first responders (EMT, Firemen, Sheriffs...), treats for my mail delivery person -- to name a few. One of my favorite RAKs is placing candy canes on the windshields of random cars parked in grocery store or pharmacy parking lots. One year, I sat in my car and watched one of the recipients -- a family with several children -- discover their candy cane treats.
This year I will be using "The Legend of the Candy Cane" as the backing to my Candy Cane RAK. I will tape a candy cane to the card (like the one above) and place it randomly on car windshields then next time I go to the grocery store.
If you'd like to participate in this Advent gift giving, here's a jpg file that you can use that will give you four cards to hand out.
Copy the jpg onto an 8.5 x 11 cardstock. Print as many as you'd like -- cardstock is the best kind of paper to use. And on the back, put a personal note wishing the recipient a merry and blessed Christmas. If you wish, you can also put the card and the candy cane inside a ziplock bag. Another way to bless someone is to place the ziplock bag with the card and candy cane on a random shelf in a store that you frequently shop at.Have fun. And on this second Sunday of Advent, spread a little PEACE and goodwill.
