Our annual Christmas Cantata at my church was December 16th. We worked on our music since late September. I thought I would share with you the Cantata part of our worship service including the anthems that were used as well as the narration and scriptures used.
This Christmas Eve is the 200th anniversary of "Silent Night, Holy Night," so I decided, like many other churches, to put together a Christmas program based on "Silent Night." I included two of the popular stories based on Silent Night -- the story of Father Joseph Mohr and his organist, Franz Gruber, and the WWI Christmas Eve Truce Story. I included scripture verses from Luke and Ephesians and a verse of "O Come, O Come Emmanuel."
Narration: The Story of "Silent Night, Holy
Night"
Choral Anthem: "All Is Well" arr. Lloyd Larson
Scripture Reading: Luke 2:8-18

Narration: The Story of the World War I
Christmas Truce
Scripture Reading: Ephesians 2: 14, 18

This is the altarscape that I used for the Cantata.
